The Gibraltar Legal and Court system is modelled on the English & Welsh legal system and their Civil Procedure Rules. As a firm, we have both a local and international client base. Our partners regularly appear in our Supreme Court (our equivalent of the English High Court) and the Gibraltar Court of Appeal and our senior partner is one of the few Gibraltar Barristers who has led in the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (the Commonwealth’s highest Court of Appeal) in essence the UK Supreme Court.
We pride ourselves in understanding the risks of litigation and their interaction within the Gibraltar legal and court system especially in relation to our clients personal means, objectives and commercial needs. We encourage non-contentious dispute resolution where possible, however we equally appreciate that sometimes aggressive and robust litigation may be required.
Our areas of practice in contentious litigation include:
- Freezing Orders and other interlocutory injunctions
- Breach of contract and tort claims
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Property law
- Fiduciary and fraud action
